Painted Canyon in Mecca California

To get to our second hike, we drove on a bumpy, unpaved road for 4 miles. It almost wasn’t worth it, but the rock formations were interesting. We saw rocks that were red, dark purple, and orange. We also had to do a bit of climbing, and this hike had a series of ladders that take you deeper into the trail. It was a surprise to see something like this in California.

The weather was simply too hot to finish the entire hike. Perhaps, during colder weather, we can do the whole thing.
